Performing

One month later, my whole double dutch team and I went to the Apollo Theatre to watch professional double dutch teams. Our coach, Kayesha, was teaching kids who were performing. The team was called the Tiger Jumpin' Jammers. They won second place. Anyway, Rhea and I were in the car and her mom told us that we would be performing on Sesame Street. We screamed so loud! We were very, very happy.

So a few days later my mom picked Rhea and me up from school two-and-a-half hours early, and she took us to the place where they film Sesame Street. We met another girl who was just one year older than us. She was also performing with us. Her name was Kianna. We went upstairs where the set was and it looked as if we were outside! We saw Big Bird, Elmo, and Grover. The camera guy said, "Action!" and Rhea and Kianna turned the ropes. I jumped in the ropes and did a trick in the ropes. The people thought that I was so good. We were about to go upstairs but there was a huge table of candy, so we stopped and took handfuls of candy.

We went back home and a few weeks later I got a jumping rope for Hannukah. So now I can practice jumping rope whenever I want to!
